35 - P5

FINAL IDEA: LifeTunez

a) Purpose

To share Music with friends and family. To inform people of the latest music and which friends and family are listening to which genre, artist and album. You will be able to give reviews on the song so you can recommend it to others around the world.

b) Format/style

It will have an upbeat theme which goes with the whole theme of sharing music and giving recommendations to help others listen to new music. The colors and layout should represent a friendly atmosphere and environment to unite the world of music together. This site will have bright colours for an appealing presentation. The music the person is playing will stay on all parts of the website so people can skip and choose their songs whenever.

c) Target user/membership

You must be 13 years old or older. This is because there may be songs that are reviewed which are not suitable for younger ages. The of songs will be filter for each age group so there is no influence for the younger ones to listen to songs that are not suitable for younger ages.

d) Production plan / Timescales

e) Launch date

The launch date of the website will be the 10th November. I will be working towards this date to make sure that it is done in a professional manner.

f) Possible revenue streams (How it might make money)

It will make money through adverts which will be displayed on every page of the website. They will be new and trending adverts or adverts of smaller companies that have paid LifeTunez in advance. LifeTunez will check the advert to see if it is appropriate for users and promotes something great.

If a user wants to pay for an advert to feature on the site they can pay £50 a month for the first 6 months. For the first year they can have up to 3 adverts.  After the first six months, they can choose to pay for another year which will result in £100 a mouth. As the person continues paying he will climb up the ladder and earn more adverts as he pays more. Before, someone pays for the advert to appear on the site, they will be reviewed by LifeTunez to see if it is suitable for users.

£100 a month for another year for 6 ads

After the third instalment of payment for the ads, £150 will now have to be paid for the following years. The prices only go up if you are a new user. The adverts that you pay for will reach all parts of the website and will be seen by millions of people around the world.

h) Consider legal/ethical issues

Copyright issues will definitely need to be taken into account. All music that is on LifeTunez will need permission from the artist so they can stream their latest album on the site and so it can be reviewed by users. Monitoring comments is a big part as well as a friendly environment is ideal for a great user experience. Anything that is inappropriate and goes against the rules and policy of the site will be taken down and they will be on a final warning.

i) Privacy/Security measures

In order to use the site, one must have an account so they can personalise their experience. They can choose what they listen to and they can make playlists for  themselves. If they want to review songs are see reviews from other users they must sign in and have an account. They must create a password so that no one  can access their account and get hacked into. Passwords must be more than six character long. It must not be a common easy-to-guess password. If the user has entered their password incorrectly more than 10 times, they will be locked out of their account for a 5 mins before they can retry.

j) Site map

k) Detailed information as to why that target audience will find it useful and easy to navigate around the website.

The site will be made for teenagers and young adults. They will find it useful as they will find the latest music from the big artists. They can also search whatever music they want in the search bar which will be on every page on the site. They can also find out what is trending so they can listen to new music. The age range will be 12 - 45 year olds. I have chosen this age range as many different types/eras of music will be on the site from many different decades. The target audience will be able to navigate throughout the website without any hassle as the profile and menu is on every page they click on.
