P3 Learners present conceptual designs for an original media product to the target audience for feedback and selection.
M2 Learners provide a rationale for their conceptual designs based on suitability for the target audience.
On Friday the 1st December, I presented my three designs for the game I made called Havok. These three designs I presented were a PS4 Cover Case, a magazine poster and a design for a special PS4 Havok Bundle.
The rationale for my designs to be aimed at my target audience was because of the themes of guns and violence presented on the posters/prints. My target audience was aimed at males who were aged 16 to 25 years. I decided to aim the prints at this age group as it was due to the violence suggested and the use of guns on the prints. The promotion of guns on the prints shows that the audience needs to be mature and older as they can deal with and understand these themes. I aimed it as this age group as they may play other similar games that are first person shooters or are of the same genre. They may play other games like Hitman and Goldeneye 007.
The feedback I received was very helpful as It gave me a few new insights as to how I could improve my work and their views on whether it appeals to the target audience and if they like the products.
Due to the feedback I received about my target audience, I changed the age range. Two people did say that it does appeal to the target audience but they thought that due to the guns and violence suggested it may be too young for the audience. I took action on this as I changed my audience and made it for 16 years olds to 25 year olds. This meant that I have to change all the PEGI rating signs from 12 to 16 on all prints. This was because my PS4 cover was featured on the PS4 bundle and magazine poster prints.
Out of all the designs, there was a particular favourite. This design was the PS4 dvd cover was the favourite among the people who gave their feedback on the designs. Their reasons were that it was clear, crisp and everything is compact as all the information is there for the customer.
